Registering a domain feels so awesome right! It’s usually one of the beginning steps owners make when starting their business. The domain is yours, it’s your name, represents your business, and is a major part of your brand.

Just because you’re not ready for a website doesn’t mean you have to let your domain sit and collect dust.

Firstly, “Tiffany, what is a domain?”

Well, think of your business (online presence) as your house and the domain as the address. Your domain is how people can find you.

Potential Client:” how can I find more about you?”
You: “you can go here www.mydomain.com”

Ok yes, an Instagram page is awesome and sweet, but if you cannot show your audience that you’re investing in yourself, how can you expect them to invest in you?

If you registered your domain MONTHS ago, and still haven’t made use of it, here are 3 quick easy ways you could use it.

1.) Purchase a branded email address.

A branded email address ends in @yourdomain.com vs @gmail.com or @yahoo.com or @aol.com, you get the drift. Anything other than your own branded email address is more likely FREE. A branded email shows that you didn’t take the free approach and rather went into taking your business more seriously. It looks more official and automatically gives the impression to your audience that they can trust you.

I use Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) for my branded email address. I love it and they provide a 14-day trial period if you want to test it out.

2.) Create a Landing Page.

5-6 page websites are nice. But, if you’re still building, there’s no need for all of that. Just a one-page website will suffice. Rather than paying a designer, if you’re on a budget, create the page yourself. UCraft.com is a good start for a landing page. Then when you’re ready, invest in a larger website and higher a web designer/developer.

Your landing page should have these 4 components:

  • What your business is about.

  • How can you help them.

  • The best way for them to contact you or purchase from you.

  • And an area to grab email subscribers. —> which brings me into #3.

3. Setup Email Marketing.

Social media is nice, we gets likes, we get comments, we get followers. But, how many of your followers are actually buying from you? How do you communicate directly to those interested in more of your business? Maybe they’d want to know exclusively when new products are dropped or when you’ve launched a new program. This is where email marketing comes in place. Grab the subscribers from your landing page and set a schedule to email them using your new shiny branded email!!

Mailchimp and Constant Contact are two top easy email marketers to use for your business.

Do not wait for the perfect moment to use your domain when you’ve already paid for it. You’re missing out on so many opportunities to grow your business even further than where you are now.

Until next time lovelies!
